The event spans a 2 hour period where these cloud formations changed shape and colors over and over! ONe fascinating bit, the cloud is actually behind the mountain aways, not touching as it looks like. This lenticular cloud got its start early in the morning. Driving up the hill to go cut wood, I saw it begin to form in the same position it held all day! I spent the morning helping my sweet friend cut firewood, even ran the chainsaw, cutting down small dead trees and sawing them up into blocks... but ooooh, my arm is sore! I avoided getting shot, and the woods are busier than at any other time of year... there are elk hunting camps every 1/4 to 3/4 miles on many Forest roads! Seemed like tent city, and at night the big canvas tents glow with their lights. - Star Lisa
